Something I've been working on off and on for about a week now, but with the release of the Season 4 spoiler storyboard things, I felt it nice to upload this now, since it is somewhat connected.
I've always wanted to do a 'full page' sort of art piece. It started just wanted to try a different pose (The subject facing away from the 'fourth wall' at a slightly turned angle)--also through a few hours of sketching, I found a way to make the 'half closed wings' pose from the rear. At least, as accurately as I think it can be.
I originally envisioned Luna standing somewhere, and was going to vector just her (to go along with my Celestia vector I've made recently) but eventually it just sorta turned into a balcony in Canterlot. Then mountains...then the river...the desert....etc :V
I also had some trouble with her cutie mark and how it would look in this situation, as well as how to draw her 'collar' from the back, deciding only the front would contain her cutie mark's insignia and sparkles. Another thing I had trouble with was all the shading. I tried to make a sort of glow on the horizon for the desert, and to sort of show how the moon's reflection of the Sun's rays are casting a shadow over things. I'm not too good at it, but compared to how I shaded ponies a little while ago, I think I've gotten better.
Finally I needed some way to contain the entirety of all of this, so I went back and looked at the pilot's explanation of the two regal sisters, and made my own 'Lunaish' border similar to it. (Which also inspired the title)
It kinda reminds me of Starswirl's book ._____.'
I do not own My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

Everything in this vector was done by hand (with pencil and paper) then recreated in Inkscape. No outside resources from other works of mine, or other's works, were used.
(Where and what you would use this for I have no idea O-o)
